Makeup - Eyeliner Comparison
I've been a good little Cover Girl for many many years. At least my eyes have - I use CG eyeliner and shadows almost exclusively. Or I did. I had SO much trouble sharpening eye pencils that I would end up with more product on the floor, desk, trash and dog than on my eye - and that is when I wasn't trying to give myself splinters.
Long ago, I switched to CG's "Perfect Point Plus" pencils. The twist-up crayon-type thing that you never have to sharpen (unless you need to shank someone, but that's a different blog) and rarely gives you splinters. These things are fabulous, though they seem a little short lived. I always felt like I was burning through them, but I am an old metal-goth-wannabe lady, so I figured this was to be expected.

Journalistic Ignominy
I love urban legends, mysteries and puzzles. When I get email spam or a facebook full of some 'warning' that something bad is going to happen, I'm usually quick to debunk to the best of my ability. Sure, occasionally I miss-bunk something, but I stand by my record. A couple of my aunts no longer email me when they get those "super deadly computer virus" spam mails.
Halloween is one of the holidays that have the lion's share of urban legends, but sadly most of them are recycled year after year, so there are no enjoyable quests for truth for me. I figured that everyone knew the familiar hoaxes by now, but apparently not.
Being from Mississippi originally, I sometimes am a little embarrassed when someone from my home state does something stupid. Today's blog was inspired by not just one person but an entire news organization and worse, one that rumor has it, instigated a viral campaign of ignorance.

Firefly Board Game
Looks like Monty's ship, the "Bonanza" is very wanted by the Alliance. I'm hoping to post a review of this terrific game shortly!

Writing Samples
I'm currently seeking some entry level writing gigs and have been poking around in my word-vaults for samples of my writing. To that end, I came across some of my more 'not so gaming' entries and wanted to hang on to them, in case I wind up applying for a fashion magazine or something. (HAH!)
I suppose this more or less makes for a 'filler' blog entry, but I DO need the links at hand rather than digging, and I get a chance to show off besides. :) If you would be so kind as to read, I'd love to have some feedback (here or any one of the links).

Gaming Content - The War Dolls
TheWarDolls.com is currently my geeky-gamer stuff outlet. It was originally a 'home base' for gamer girls all over the US, but everyone kinda drifted in different directions. It still stands as a beacon of hope for all girls in geek-dom and I hope that one day we get some more authors wishing to contribute... *hint hint* ;)
In the meantime, here's my geekery of the day.

Awkward Pause Friday
Because I'm lazy or something. And it's Friday. I give you another awkward pause.
And it's Ronda! Yum! (who, by the way, is upset with Justin Bieber) I don't think you wanna piss this woman off.

Burn all the Things
It only took a week of this blog's life before I ranted a rant. I need to write. I also need to vent.
Counties in the Atlanta metro area require a car owner to have their car's emissions checked out before every yearly tag renewal. I have no real problem with this policy on its own. Combine this policy with a lack of accountability on used car dealerships to sell a product that will pass the emissions check. Especially when that sell assured a buyer (hint: me) that the car WOULD pass emissions, and to call them if it didn't.
Of course - it did not.

Thankful for the Things
I'm also thankful I no longer drive this model car. |
I was discussing with a friend, her upcoming nuptials and my recent ones (woot!) and she inadvertently reminded me how far I had actually come since she and I had met.

Awkward Pause Friday
I work tech support, and in the occasional downtime, I'll listen/watch music on YouTube. When a call comes in, I will pause my music where it is and sometimes I'm treated to a wonderful image of a singer/artist making the most interesting faces. I've decided to share those with you, dear reader in what I am going to call "Awkward Pause Friday" because it's the obviously easy way out. ;)
Enjoy!
Enjoy!
The First One
Oh! Clutch them pearls Jean Luc! |
I've decided to start another blog wherein I can post anything. I have a nerdy blog, Another that I use mainly for posting nerdy fiction and now this one. :)
This one will (should) contain anything from rants and raves to funny anecdotes I find in my travels through the bunnyweb. On the occasion that I write gaming/nerdy or fiction bloggitude, it'll be linked here.
My goal with this is to write a little every day. I cannot promise that there will be quality, but instead I will aim for quantity. Filler, if you will. Much like that quickstop 'hot dog' filled with - well whatever it is that they put in those things.
With mustard.
